    Our advantages

Our Wombi baby sleeping bag is the solution between a pucksack and a classic baby sleeping bag. It provides a feeling of security and safety through the resistance on the closed hands, similar to swaddling. Your baby can still move freely, just like in a classic baby sleeping bag. Unlike the latter, however, it also keeps hands and feet warm and allows for easy nappy changes thanks to the two-way zip.

    • Pucking weaning: Pucking is a common technique for newborns to ensure a peaceful sleep as if in a baby's womb. But as the baby gets older or turns onto its tummy, it should be weaned off. The Wombi baby sleeping bag is an alternative that provides a similar feeling to the pucksack and also counteracts the Moro reflex. This way, the baby feels safe and sleeps better, despite the gentle weaning off of the pucking.

    • Baby sleeping bag for neurodermatitis: In Germany, newborns and young children in particular suffer from neurodermatitis. The Wombi baby sleeping bag can help as a solution, because its closed hands prevent scratching and chafing, replace cotton gloves and protect the baby's skin. The sleeping bag is made of skin-friendly and breathable material that is soft and does not pinch. Therefore, the Wombi is perfect as a baby sleeping bag for neurodermatitis.

    Find the right size

One of the main functions of the Wombi baby sleeping bag is the slight resistance that the baby should feel when his hands are closed. To ensure this function, choosing the right size is crucial. To determine this, consider the following:

Measure your child from the shoulder to the sole of the foot. Compare with the measurements given:

    • Size XS: up to 50cm - about dress size 50/56
    • Size S: 51-60cm - about dress size 62/74
    • Size M: 61-70cm - about dress size 80/86
    • Size L: 71-80cm - about dress size 92/98
    • Size XL: from 81cm - about dress size 98/104

Note: Your child should grow out of the baby sleeping bag, not into it!

    The right material

To ensure that your baby can wear the sleeping bag with a clear conscience, care should be taken to use materials that are free of skin and harmful substances. The fabrics of our sleeping bags are either tested and certified according to Oeko-Tex®, GOTS or OCS 100. Our two-way zip is also sewn with a fabric protector to avoid scratching or pinching your baby's skin.

Our summer sleeping bag is made from a breathable, thin jersey fabric and our winter sleeping bag is made from a warm brushed sweat fabric. The summer sleeping bag has 0.5 TOG - 1.0 TOG values and the winter sleeping bag has 1.5 TOG - 2.5 TOG values.

    Clothes under the sleeping bag

Our Winter baby sleeping bag is suitable from October or when the temperature is below 19°C, while our Summer baby sleeping bag can be used from April or when the room temperature is above 19°C.

    • For temperatures below 14°C we recommend our cosy 2.5 TOG winter sleeping bag with a long sleeve bodysuit and sleepsuit with long sleeves and feet underneath, plus an optional footmuff.
    • For 14-16°C we recommend the same 2.5 TOG sleeping bag with a long sleeve bodysuit and sleepsuit with long sleeves and legs.
    • For 17-18°C we recommend either our 1.5 TOG sleeping bag with a long sleeve bodysuit and long pyjamas or the thick 2.5 TOG baby sleeping bag with a long sleeve bodysuit underneath.
    • At 19-21°C we recommend our 0.5 TOG summer sleeping bag with a short sleeve bodysuit and pyjamas with long sleeves and legs or our 1.5 TOG sleeping bag with a long sleeve bodysuit or long pyjamas.
    • From 21-24°C, our thin 0.5 TOG summer sleeping bag is suitable with a short-sleeved bodysuit or pyjamas with short sleeves and legs.
    • At temperatures above 24°C, we recommend wearing only a nappy under our thin 0.5 TOG wombi to avoid overheating and heat build-up.

    Getragener Babyschlafsack mit Zwei-Wege-Reißverschluss

    Two-way zip

The zipper on our baby sleeping bags closes in both directions: from top to bottom and from bottom to top. With this two-way system, we guarantee easy changing and changing of your baby. A padded protective fabric is incorporated at the chin and along the closure to protect your baby from possible injuries.

Schlafsack mit Walmotiv und umklappbaren Ärmeln

    Flexible turn-up sleeves

The foldable sleeves make the Wombi versatile. Frequently asked questions about our Wombi

Can my baby sleep on its stomach with the Wombi?

Yes, because our baby sleeping bag was specially designed to ensure full freedom of movement. Since the little ones can move their arms freely in the Wombi, they can roll onto their stomach and back again at any time, which reduces the risk of sudden infant death.

Can my baby still grab his pacifier or other objects with the Wombi?

Yes, since the hands are free in the Wombi and the material is not too thick, the little ones can easily reach through the fabric. In addition, small children do not think as complicated when acting as we adults do. They work with what they have and try to achieve their goal with it, for example the pacifier. With our turn-up sleeves, we also offer you the option of folding closed hands and turning them into open hands. This allows your baby to grasp objects normally.

Is it easy to put on and take off?

Yes! With our unique design, we deliberately made sure that you can put your child on and take them off again very quickly. Our two-way zip is a great advantage, especially when changing nappies at night, as you can open the sleeping bag from the bottom up and the child does not have to undress completely when changing nappies. We know the situation when things have to be done quickly and we know that small children can sometimes be impatient.

Can my child crawl/walk when wearing the Wombi?

Whether sleeping, crawling or running, everything is possible with our Wombi baby sleeping bag. The unique, protected design offers optimal freedom of movement for your baby. So the little ones are not restricted and can explore the big world. Our Wombi supports your child in all phases of life.

However, if your child also wants to walk in the Wombi, we recommend pulling stopper socks over the Wombi's feet, as otherwise it can be very slippery depending on the surface and there is a risk of injury.

Why are the Wombi's sleeves so "short"?

If the sleeves of the Wombi are not turned down (opened), it can give the impression that the arms are too short. However, our baby sleeping bag is primarily intended to be used with closed sleeves in order to give the children a feeling of security through the resistance on their hands, like in the baby bump. So the Wombi is often used as a support for weaning swaddling.

Even in the womb, babies can only open their hands if they pull them against their body, and it is the same in the Wombi. Because then the tension in the fabric is released, allowing the babies to open their hands in the Wombi. On the other hand, when they stretch out their arms, it is also like in the womb and the babies encounter the resistance of the closed sleeves with their hands. This gives the babies a special feeling that calms them down faster when they wake up, so they often go back to sleep on their own without waking up and crying.
